Week 3
Week three was about starting the game development and building the core functions and ideas of the game. The two major parts of this week were the start of the coding process and the start of the map planning and map design.
This is a rough sketch of the map we had going at the time:
This is some of the code our coder had at the time as well.
<grammarly-extension data-grammarly-shadow-root="true" class="dnXmp" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; pointer-events: none; z-index: auto; --rem: 16;"></grammarly-extension>
"Every physics frame, when the player is grabbing onto an environment object (when the "pivoting" flag in the Hand script is set to true), it calculates the target position of the player. Then, in the player script, a speed is given based on how close they are to the target position. This gives an interpolated velocity effect."
